She was first inspired by driftwood burls that she found out in on her first trip northern California on the beach. It was a cool misty foggy morning and she came across driftwood and was so fascinated by the texture, showing all the unique detail and grain in the driftwood. She incorporates this inspiration into this mug, intricately hand-carving each line, imitating the type of driftwood she found. Colors are added to create a sun-soaked wood look, with hints of green, to imitate the look of moss. The metallic glaze and is added to compliment the gray driftwood and to add a bit of an industrial edge, which is commonly found in the artists work.
This unique design is handmade and a fully functional mug to drink and smoke out of. The handle is the pipe, hallowed out down to the bottom of the mug, and onto the bowl. Is a solid, tight, and full hit, as described by previous collectors.
