This set comes from one of the artist main series "Driftwood." She was first inspired by driftwood burls that she found out in northern California on the beach. It was a cool misty foggy morning, and she came across driftwood, and was so fascinated by the texture, showing all the unique detail and grain in the driftwood. She incorporates this inspiration into this set, intricately hand-carving each line, imitating the type of driftwood she found. Colors are added to create a sun-soaked wood look, with hints of green, to imitate the look of moss. The metallic glaze is added to compliment the gray driftwood and to add a bit of industrial edge, which is commonly found in the artists work.
