Oyster Mushroom Wood Grain Planter-2024

This one of a kind porcelain ceramic planter is individually handmade by the artist.
The "woodgrain" series is the artists central thesis in her work. It is inspired by the everyday telephone pole that one may see on the city streets. The woodgrain technique and effect is a signature, in which was developed solely by the artist. It is also inspired by theperfect stack of oyster mushooms she finds nearly year round. She loves the variety of shades they can come in, but inthe summer months, a soft white color pictured here. Also she loves the amount that she forages for, giving her enough to eat and turn into medicinal powders and tintures through the winter months . She designs these so there is proper drainage and an attached water dish to collect the water- a two in one!
