Chicken of the Woods Mushroom Woodgrain Hanging Planter

This one of a kind porcelain ceramic planter is individually handmade by the artist.

The "woodgrain" series is the artists central thesis in her work. It is inspired by the everyday telephone pole that one may see on the city streets. The woodgrain technique and effect is a signature, in which was developed solely by the artist. It is also inspired by the bountiful of chicken of the woods mushroom that the artist forages for in the fall months. She loves the texture, the way they stack over one another, and the vibrancy of the colors this mushroom produces. Also she loves the amount that she forages for, giving her enough to eat through the winter months. She designs these so there is proper drainage and an attached water dish to collect the water- a two in one!
