The way the pole is debarked and shows all the unique grains in the wood fascinates the artist. Little details that may be seen are "branch nubs" "woodpecker effects" and "chisel effect." The nails, staples, and other man made aspects that are ingrained in the pole intrigues the artist even more. Each "wood-grain piece" also has a custom brown or gray color that is never duplicated.
